Olga Lymperopoulou

Olga Lymperopoulou is a neuropsychologist specialized in Ageing and Dementia. Having discovered her passion for the science of neuropsychology quite early, she was accepted at the age of 19 as a trainee at the Memory Clinic of the ArmyShare Fund Hospital, where she remained until her graduation from the Psychology Department of the University of Athens. In 2004 she completed her postgraduate studies in Cognitive Neuropsychology at the University of Essex in U.K. and that same year she became part of the interscientific team of the Department of Neurodegenerative Brain Diseases – Memory Clinic of “HYGEIA” Hospital, where she works until now. Also, she is one of the cofounders of the Athens Association of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders and for a decade she had been participating vigorously in the formation of the Association’s structures and services.

 

During the last years, her scientific interest has focused on the promotion of cognitive wellness, maintenance of brain health and dementia prevention. She develops cognitive training programs for people with dementia and participates as a researcher in numerous clinical studies and European programs. At the same time, she writes articles for printed and online mass media and since 2015 has her own blog at the Greek edition of “TheHuffingtonPost”. Her website trainyourbrain.gr aims at communicating to a wide audience, in a simple and comprehensible way, scientifically based information regarding brain health care.
