Christos Tarantilis

Christos D. Tarantilis is a Full-Professor of Management Science and Decision Making at the Department of Management Science & Technology, and the Head of the “Operations Research and Decision Systems” Centre at Athens University of Economics and Business

He has served as the Head of the Department of Management Science and Technology leading the Department

a) to an excellent evaluation by an external committee of distinguished professors in highly recognised Universities of Great Britain and the USA (e.g. LSE, Imperial College)

b) to launch new specialisations and courses oriented to innovation and entrepreneurship as well as business analytics

c) to commence the first MSc in Business Analytics in Greece while at the same time launching the first MSc program in the history of the Department

Prof. Tarantilis has more than 150 scientific papers in international academic journals, books and conferences, including more than 60 research papers in the most well-respected international journals in the field of operations research, logistics and transportation.

Both undergraduate and postgraduate/MBA students have recognized his outstanding teaching ability and this is well reflected by his teaching awards the last twelve consecutive years (courses in both English and Greek).

He has been also acting as member of the Board of Directors in Greek companies and organizations, and leader in a number of national and EU projects.

He is also an executive trainer on managerial decision-making, leadership skills, and business innovation strategies in Greek and multinational companies as well as a frequent columnist in the Sunday edition of the Greek newspaper “Kathimerini”.
